Adobe Photoshop 7 Error – “Could not initialize Photoshop because the scratch disks are full”

Yes, I still use adobe photoshop 7 on my home computer. It still get’s the job done for me. It’s lightweight and easy to use. Since I’ve updated my hard drive from a 350 to a 2 TB, I have had issues with installing photoshop 7.0. After a little bit of messing around I came to the conclusion that it was not my virtual memory, which is currently sitting at 16 gigs. Adobe Photoshop 7.0 has an issue with huge hard drives. The Scratch disk error kept coming up due to dated software design.

To fix this problem, you can simply create a new Partition in Disk Management. I created a partition that is 3072 mb, which equals 3 gigs of storage space. After installing Adobe Photoshop, I was unable to get past the loading screen, before receiving the error “Could not initialize Photoshop because the scratch disks are full.”

What you need to do is restart adobe photoshop and during the loading screen hit control and alt at the same time. This will prompt you to pick your scratch disks. From here select the new drive that you just partitioned. This should fix all your scratch disks are full errors.
